The souks of the Medina of Tunis
UNESCO World Heritage · 1979
With a passionate local guide, you walk into the UNESCO-listed Medina of Tunis, a maze of busy alleys, traditional souks and architectural treasures: the perfumers’, the jewellers’ and the craftsmen’s souks, and the old medersas, the schools where students once lived and studied.

The Ez Zitouna Mosque, from outside
At the heart of the medina stands the Ez Zitouna Mosque, the great mosque of Tunis. The walk takes you past it to admire its minaret and its gates from outside.
