Stop at : Bulla Regia, Jendouba Tunisia
The first stop of the excursion will be Bulla Regia, the splendid historical city located in the north of Jendouba, in the valley of Medjerda and in the middle of the cereal plains which had always attracted the covetousness of the successive ancient civilizations.
Bulla Regia which means the beautiful city was one of the famous cities of the Carthaginian, Roman and Byzantine periods whose monuments testify to it until our days. Created in the 4th century BC, the city was invaded by the Romans in 203 BC to become in 156 BC. J-C the capital of Numides under the reign of Massinissa, principal ally of Rome.
From the Byzantine period, the city experienced a period of stagnation and was gradually abandoned by its population until it became a ghost town.
The mid-nineteenth century saw the first archaeological excavations in Bulla Regia which subsequently led to the discovery of several archaeological sites. The site currently contains remains including forums, a theater and public baths that date mainly from the Roman period, in addition to a museum where mosaics, coffins and other ancient objects belonging to the Numidians, Carthaginians and Romans are displayed.

Beni M’Tir is a beautiful village in the northwest of Tunisia, located in the mountainous region of Kroumirie, a few kilometers from Bulla Regia and Aïn Draham. The city is located on the territory of the confederation of Berber tribes of Kroumirs. Built in 1948 to accommodate engineers and workers who came to build the dam of Beni M’Tir, which the village overlooks, the town has retained its original and typical architecture following a municipal bylaw: tile roofs and facades identical to the black shutters and red frames.
